Check to make sure that the jar the bootstrapper downloads is a valid file.

    It's the pack200.... Why wouldn't it work?

Did you upload the files via FTP?

    Yes, in binary mode

Check in the launcher's data folder for a "launcher" folder and look for any .jars. Are you able to open the .jars with a ZIP archive program?

    Huh?

Look for the folder where the launcher store its files. It may be in your Documents folder.

Inside that folder should be a "launcher" folder. That's where the bootstrapper downloads the .jar.

You are receiving that error because the bootstrapper has tried all the .jars in that folder but none of them properly load, so I'm asking if you can manually open the .jars in something like WinRAR or even Windows to see if they are not corrupt. As you may already know, .jar files are just .zip files.

yep, there are 2 jars, and I can open them both in winrar, BUT when i double click on it, it says this error: A JNI error has occurred, please check your installation and try again.

    1. Open command prompt.
    2. Type java -jar (which a space at the end)
    3. Drag one of the .jar files into command prompt and press ENTER
Take a screenshot of the error.

I think you pack200'd the wrong .jar. Make sure you get the one with -all in its name because it bundles the extra libraries that the launcher uses.

Thx... Also what is a good ping service for open shift? Also on the wiki, it says to pack the all jar.. Might want to fix that

Yeah, you're supposed to pack the all jar?

I don't know of a good ping service but look for a free "website uptime" service that lets you have it periodically check a URL to see if it's up.
